Holiday spirit on campus

While snow has yet to blanket us in its pure winter white wonder, the holiday spirit has begun to cover us all. From candid pictures with jolly old St. Nick, to carolers on the corner and holiday lights glistening in the cold of the winter night, the season for Yule tide and good cheer is here. “I feel that the official start of the holiday season on campus happens at Mirror Lake,” said Brandy Nickens, a senior in sociology. “The moment that the lights come on is the exact moment that the holiday magic begins.” Light Up the Lake is a tradition that started in 2003, with Ohio Staters, Inc., a 36-student exclusive group whose purpose is to promote tradition and student welfare on OSU’s campus. Light Up the Lake was enacted with hopes of creating a warm seasonal atmosphere throughout the entire winter quarter for all in the university community to enjoy.
