Crew overpowers Chivas USA
The Columbus Crew are getting more consistent - both on the field and the scoreboard. Following a 1-1 home draw against the New England Revolution three days earlier, the Crew duplicated the feat against Chivas USA on Saturday at Crew Stadium.

Calm summers at OSU
Parking spaces in the “C” lots, open treadmills at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center and empty seats at the library can only mean one thing: It is summer at Ohio State. While some people think summer is meant for vacation, many students choose to spend their time in the classroom. “During this time you can move better in between classes versus traffic jams,” said Tracy Stankich, a senior in finance. “Because there are less people, it seems like a smaller college and a laid-back atmosphere.” Because OSU is a city-oriented university, it is no surprise the bars around campus still have people in them during summer; however, there are fewer house parties. With places such as sorority houses being closed for the summer, more older students than younger ones remain on campus. With great summer weather, students are hanging out on the patios at bars and restaurants in the Gateway and on High Street.
New trend means students in college longer
Though an undergraduate degree is sometimes expected to be completed in four years, for others the process may take longer. Today about 40 percent of Ohio State University students graduate in four years, and more importantly, there is evidence proving that the number is increasing.
Clippers sweep series with Charlotte Knights
There is a reason games are not played on paper, and the Columbus Clippers just proved why in the last few days at Cooper Stadium. The Charlotte Knights invaded Columbus with an outstanding 52-23 record and a commanding 16-game lead over the second-place Durham Bulls in the International League’s South Division. The Clippers brought a 32-41 record into Monday’s game, last in the IL West. But rather than roll over and play dead, the Clippers swept a brief, two-game series with Charlotte, winning Monday 4-3 and Tuesday 2-1.
Downtown stadium best for city, Clippers
