Truman sweeps cross country MIAA honors
Junior Alan Heincker and junior Leah Zidon took Athlete of the Week honors for their respective cross country teams over the past week.
Heincker finished 19th overall of 321 runners to lead the men's cross country team in the University of Nebraska (Omaha) Woody Greeno Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Heincker ran the 8-kilometer race in a 25:53, helping the 'Dogs win the college division men's championship.
Zidon led the women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish at the Missouri Southern State College (Joplin) Sports World Southern Stampede on Saturday.
She ran the six-kilometer course in 22:36, finishing top among MIAA entries at the event.
Soccer games canceled because of travel problems
The Truman men's soccer match scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, against Christian Brothers University (Memphis, Tenn.) was canceled because of transportation problems for the Christian Brothers' soccer squad. The contest will be made up at 2 p.m. Nov. 10.

Rugby destroys Huskers in another big victory
Truman scored nine tries in a convincing win over the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on Saturday in Kansas City, Mo.
Sophomore outside center Ryan Worth led the Bulls with three tries, senior flanker Kevin Orcutt added two tries and senior Luke Walczewski, junior Chris Bell and sophomore Brian Wilson each scored one try.
The B squad didn't fare as well as the A team, losing 49-5.
The Bulls play against University of Missouri-Columbia at 1:30 p.m., Saturday.
Men's golf finishes third at Central Regional
The Bulldog men's golf team finished third of 13 teams at the Central Regional Fall Invitational on Sept. 23-24.
Sophomore Austin George led the team with a 151 in the tournament.
