Bulls place 2nd in Heart of America Tourney
The men's rugby team posted two big wins Saturday but couldn't pull out the win Sunday to bring home the championship.
After posting a big win over University of Nebraska-Lincoln 38-10, the Bulls barely scraped by University of Oklahoma (Norman) 18-10.
In the Nebraska game, senior Nick Welchert, sophomore Richard Schuessler, junior Austin View and sophomore Chris Bell all scored for the Bulls while freshman Kyle Stephens and Schuessler were important contributors to the Oklahoma victory.
On Sunday, the Bulls were thumped 41-6 by a physical Iowa State University (Ames) team. The halftime score was 10-6 in favor of ISU, but the team was unable to stop its opponent in the second half, suffering its first setback of the season.
