2010 Election updates: Wyatt wins District 2 with 60.6 percent

11:42 p.m. Proposition B currently is passing, 51 percent to 49 percent, with 96.8 percent of precincts reporting statewide.

 

10:46 p.m. Proposition B is deadlocked with 50.2 percent of votes against and 49.8 percent of votes in support, with 83.1 percent of precincts reporting.

 

Incumbent Wes Shoemyer (D) has conceded the District 18 senate race to his opponent, Brian Munzlinger (R). Munzlinger currently has 58.4 percent of the vote, with 57.4 percent of precincts reporting.

"We put in a lot of hard work over the past eleven months and finally people let their voices be heard, which resonated quite loudly today all across the state," Munzlinger said.

 

9:28 p.m. Kristie Swaim (D) won the Adair County associate circuit judge race with 51.85 percent of the vote. Josh Meyer (IND) received 48.03 percent of the vote.

"At a local level - being accessible to the people, being accountable to the law," Kristie Swaim said when asked about reasons she thinks she won the Adair County associate circuit judge race.

 

 

Stanley Pickens (R) won the race for presiding commissioner of the Adair County Commission with 50 percent of the vote. Runner-up Harley Harrelson (D) received 44 percent of the vote. Darin M. Fountain (CST) received 5.31 percent of the vote, and .11 percent of the vote went to write-in candidates.

 

9:12 p.m. "I think I'm on cloud nine right now," Zachary Wyatt said in an interview with an Index reporter. "It's been a great campaign. I've really enjoyed it. And I can't wait. Like I said, tomorrow I'll be getting to work for the district, and we won't stop there."

 

9:06 p.m. Zachary Wyatt (R) won the District 2 state representative race with 60.6 percent of the vote. Rebecca McClanahan (D) received 39.4 percent of the vote, with 100 percent of precincts reporting.

 

"I'm surprised. A bit shocked, but it has become clear the people of house District 2 have spoken," Rebecca McClanahan said in an interview with KTRM.

 

"I don't have Barack Obama on speed dial," McClanahan said, in response to Republican attempts to tie her to Democrats in Washington.

 

9:06 p.m. With 31.6 percent of precincts reporting, Brian Munzlinger is leading the race for district 18 state senator with 56.9 percent of the vote.

 

In the race for District 2 state representative, Zachary Wyatt (R) is leading with 58 percent of the vote, while Rebecca McClanahan received 42 percent of the vote. We are still waiting for more results from Sullivan and Putnam Counties.

 

Kristie Swaim (D) won the Adair County associate circuit judge race with 51.85 percent of the vote. Josh Meyer (IND) received 48.03 percent of the vote.

8:56 p.m. Proposition A was passed in Adair County with 68 percent of the vote. Statewide, Proposition A currently is passing with 74.5 percent of the vote, with 20 percent of precincts reporting.

 

8:56 p.m.Proposition B did not pass in Adair County with 69 percent voting against. Proposition B currently is not passing statewide with 62 percent voting against, with 21.1 percent of precincts reporting.

 

8:55 p.m. In the race for District 18 state senator, Wes Shoemyer (D) has 44.7 percent of the vote and Brian Munzlinger (R) is leading with 55.3 percent. Thirty-four of 136 precincts' results are in, with 14,000 votes.

 

In the race for District 18 state senator, Brian Munzlinger (R) led Adair County with 54.51 percent of the vote. Wes Shoemyer (D) received 45.31 percent of the vote.

 

8:32 p.m. In the race for District 18 state senator, Wes Shoemyer (D) has 43.8 percent of the vote and Brian Munzlinger (R) is leading with 56.2 percent. Twenty-three of 136 precincts' results are in, with 6,457 votes.

 

8:48 p.m. Proposition A is passing with 74.3 percent of the vote. 17.2 percent of Missouri precincts have reported.
